NEW SHOES
I LOVE what Chavis will do for me...I was so excited when we got our new "sliders" I just had to take a pic, and as corny as it was, he joined in :)

To My Dad:
There are so many reasons that I call you my Dad. You have been there for me through the hardest times and the happiest times of my life. You came into my life when I was 4 years old and I doubt either of us knew what an amazing journey our family would have together; it’s been a roller coaster, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Growing up I remember you getting up with me in the mornings: curling my bob hair-cut, getting me breakfast, and listening to me talk about anything and everything the entire time. I remember you running up the hard-metal-winding stairs in the middle of the night as I called out your name because I was in a panic that burglars were in our house playing drums on our sink, which of course was just the hail hitting our railing outside. I love that I have the memory of you tucking me in every night before bed, and bringing me a glass of water. I even remember the first time I got spanked by you after I told Mom to “shut-up.” During elementary, jr. high, and high-school you supported me in every activity I wanted to pursue: you were by me when I succeeded and when I didn’t, and were always there to encourage me. I remember you helping me move to Blanding as I started my journey through nursing school, and how sad I was to see you guys leave; you are the best parents.
Times haven’t always been so light-hearted; you have been there through all the drop-offs and pick-ups from air-ports and homes after being with Greg. You have always been available to lend a listening and comforting ear after the visits were over. You worried about us when we were gone, and made us feel safe when we were home. You showed me the type of man I would want to marry; someone who always puts his family first. You married Mom, and took on the role of being my Dad. I didn’t know you would become my Dad then, but that’s what you became to me. Without you, the Dad I would’ve known would have been the one who only wanted to see me at his convenience, and never put my needs first. I am so grateful that you came into our lives, and showed us that even though all families go through hard-times, at the end of the day family will always be there.
As I have gotten older, and gotten married, you are still there to give advice and to listen when I need someone to talk to. Having you and Mom there while I got my endowments out and got married in the temple were two of the best days of my life. It meant everything to me that you were there. You are the BEST father-in-law in the history of father-in-laws, and the best Dad.
You have strengthened our family so much. I appreciate you always putting us first, even if it meant for you to go without. I am so lucky that my children with get to have a grandpa like you. You’re outgoing, smart, honest, hard-working, funny, genuine, and down-to earth. I am so grateful that you’ve been an example in my life; I know I am where I am today because of you.
You have been my Dad since I was 4 years old, and now that I am getting to the point in my life where I will be starting a family soon, I have realized that just like I want my future children to be sealed to their Mom and Dad, I want that too. In my eyes and everyone else’s, I want you to be my Dad. Thank you for wanting to be my Dad for eternity too, I love you.
Love always-your daughter,
Dashelle
...today was a very special day for my family and I; I got adopted my now DAD Jon. He's always been my Dad, but I am so excited to have this done, now we will be able to be sealed together.
That's my big news..not big for really anyone but my family and I, but thats okay :)

it's the little things
yesterday was a bit rough for me: dealing with a passive-aggressive battle-ax, and an inconsiderate home-bound who wasn't home, so when I got home I set out stuff to make spagetti, but didn't get around to it. when Chav came home, he just started making it...it really is the little things that make being married so GREAT. Chavis does little things all the time that make me LOVE being married to him.
#1-he listens to me talk/rant about my day EVERYDAY
#2-he rarely gets mad at me for my unreasonable road rage
#3-he gets the mail everyday on his way home from work
#4-the fact he is DETERMINED to be able to provide for our family
#5-he finally realized he doesn't want to be an old dad and is warming up to the idea of starting a family
#6-he trusts me with our money, and would never tell me I could't buy something
#7-he comes coupon shopping with me, even though he gets so embarrassed when the people behind us
have to wait :)
#8-he asks me to pick out his clothes ( :
#9-the way he rolls his eyes when I give him a cheezy smile
#10-the way he says, "you're so damn weird" after he's just done the WEIRDEST thing :)
Being married is the BEST part of my life...getting to come home from work and be with Chavis is the highlight of my day.

I really can't believe that may is almost here! this year has gone by so fast!!! We'll be done with another semester in just 2 weeks..and then I get a 5 day break before starting into the RN-BSN program at SUU. I will admit, i'm a little nervous seing as how we have 3 classes this summer..each is 3 weeks long, and we meet ONCE a week! that means we have to cover 45 hours of class in 3 days : D YES, i know i'm going to be busy.
And, as if I haven't spread myself oober thin already...the pisces in me has been longing for the water, so I decided to get a job at the Washington City Center as a lifequard! My first day started at 4:55am...and ended with inservice from 8pm-10pm :( we had to do these crazy drills called "the serpitine"...and I don't know what the definition of that word actually is, but for me it meant spine bruising-ass kicking-25minute cardio workout I WASN'T prepared for. I did feel good knowing that even though I have about 5 years on the other employees that I can still hold my own....thank goodness...at 23 I think I should be in my prime!

funny thing
Chavis and I are asked all the time how we met....and frankly its all very classic. Boy meets girl, boy too shy to talk to girl, one year goes by, boy grows 1/2 a pair, girl makes the FIRST move...two years later...here we are! STILL married, and HAPPIER than ever!
Last week was our TWO anniversary, and I must say that IM SO VERY LUCKY! I have a great husband. He is my best friend: the one I live for, LAUGH WITH, dream of, LOVE.

Here's to year three.
Honestly...
I have a million and one things I coull be doing...and all I want to do is NOTHING. I better enjoy this time, because soon enough, I won't have ANY time to do nothing...and I'm not talking about a baby (unfortunately), I'm talking about starting a possibly long journey back to school!
Starting in may I am officially an SUU thunderbird! Im starting their BSN program..then we'll see how I feel after I've completed this program, and if LIFE has decided to ONCE AGAIN take over my life, and NOT go as I planned it :)
also, come MAY there will be some very exciting news to hit this blog...so stay tuned.

You're going to feel it in the morning
This weekend we went to Brian Head to go boarding with a group of friends, and we all had a blast. As of today every muscle in my body is sore..and thats part of the reason i LOVE boarding, you get a WAY better work-out than you realize.
It was Zach's 1st time boarding, and Chav's 4th...and honestly, it sickens me that they are so athletically inclined. Chav learned carve in one day, and i swear it took me over a year to be able to do that :)
Manda and I started snowboarding in highschool, so we revisited some of our foundest boarding memories, this included:
The time us and two of our friends all rode one lift and somehow as we got of the lift, we all got entangled in one-anothers' snowboards and we all ate crap!
The time I went off this kicker and for some odd reason closed my eyes and spun around-I ended landing on my head, and my biggest was concern was that i was going to get kicked off the ski-bus for not wearing a helmet!
The weather was PERFECT! It was sunny the whole day, which made the day go by so fast. We boarded from 9:30am-5:00pm. It was a blast hauling down the mountain with everyone: carving, and the occassional or frequent wiping-out (depending on who you are). I loved being back on the mountain after a two-year break.
