Our First Christmas

This Christmas Chavis and I are in a 2bedroom, 1bath apartment. We got ourselves a $35 prelit tree, and squished it into the only space available :) This is our first Christmas together, and I love that we have our own place to decorate..even if it is a small space.

Thanksgiving!

Every Thanksgiving my family stays in park city for a week at this bed & breakfast.

This year was a blast!
Chavis and I arrived to PC the day before thanksgiving and my Mom and Dad and us went and saw The Blindside. It was one of the BEST movies I've seen in a long time.
My Uncle Joel and Aunt Rachels family came up on Thanksgiving day; the meal and the company were both awesome!

That night Chavis, Rachel, Mindy, Brayden, my Mom and Dad, and I all braved the crazy "Black-Friday" crowds and headed to the Outlet mall at midnight for some serious shopping and some serious deals!
Chavis and I spent over an hour in line at PacSun...he must really love me :)
We got home at 3:30am; everyone slept in til eleven.
During our weekend we also had a puzzle race.

Chavis and I dominated. Chavis and I finished 5 minutes ahead of everyone else, but couldn't find our last piece anywhere, so my parents "technically" won, but just after they finished we found our last piece in with my uncles pieces..so really we won!
We also had a Frito tasting contest (between the generic brand and the Frito brand) because we were having taco soup and there was one bag of each..and everyone wanted the Frito brand..clearly. Everyone could tell which one was the Frito brand, but the generic wasnt too bad.

(this is everyone during the Frito test with their eyes closed)

On Saturday before my aunt and unlce's family left we all got our pictures taken on the front porch..and the results were pretty entertaining :)

Thanksgiving is hands'down my favorite holliday of the year. The only thing that couldve made this holiday better is if my sister, Meagan, would've been there.

OUR NEW BABY

We were browsing the Toyota dealership back in October, with ABSOLUTELY no intention of purchasing a new anything..and we wound up buying this!
Chavis had been lookin for this truck ever since he got home off his mission: toyota tacoma, standard, double cab, white, TRD off road package..so when they found this one, we couldnt pass it up.
So far we love it, minus the gas milage it gets!

Weekend

This weekend was great; my parents came dowon from Price for the first time since my graduation back in May to help Chav and I move into our new apartment.

Friday consisted of my mom telling me theyd be arriving around one in the afternoon, and then her calling me at eleven to say they hadn't left yet. At 2:50 when I called, she stated they were leaving price. At 6 o'clock my parents finally arrived (and my mom, being such an amazing cook, and her knowing my lack-of, brought down meals for the entire weekend, and some to last us this week too). Friday night My mom and dad, Chav's mom and dad, Grandma Joey and Chavis and I all went to the Monticello Temple and did a session. It was the first time either of my parents had been to that temple, and it was really nice to be able to do a session as a family. After we ate at Lamplight..DELICIOUS.

Saturday started off late with everyone sleeping in til 10:30 and 11:00, but once up the moving began. By One, everyone was hungry so we decided to head over to Bluff to eat at Twin Rocks Cafe..DELICIOUS. After lunch, browsing the gift shops, and getting some red-rock, we decided to take the "Goose-neck Way" back home...I fell asleep, but my parents and Chavis picked some pinenuts along the way and looked at some ruins..I think they all enjoyed themselves, I know it did.

We got back to Blanding around 7pm, and once home my mom stated that she wanted to go to Alco, knowing what a "shopper" my mom is all of us (my dad, chav, and i) told my Mom it closed at six, not believing us we told her it was open til 8 or 9. So at 8:15 we headed over to Alco, and the parking lot only had one car in it, but the lights were on so we told Chavis to drive over. But Chavis thought since we said it looked closed that we just wanted to go to Clark's..well like mother like daughter..my mom and I both yell, "what the hell are you doing? We want to go to Alco." "Just stop the truck," i said as my Mom and i both got out; frustrated and annoyed Chavis and my Dad just take off to Clark's. As my Mom and i approach the doors of Alco, they are locked, so as we are walking to Clark's, we come into eyes view of Chavis and my Dad..both of them with smirks on their faces just laughing at my mom and I. haha

Sunday after church we ate our first meal at our new table in our new apartment!

We loved living with Grandma Joey, but it is so nice to have a place that's just "ours."

It was a great weekend with some good laughs along the way.

Iife

Life is too short to wake up with regrets
So love the people who treat you right
Love the ones who don't just because you can
Believe everything happens for a reason
If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands
If it changes your life, let it.
Kiss slowly
Forgive quickly

As I read this, it made me realize what a great life I have.
It made me feel good to know that everything happens for a reaon,
and if we try our best to be good people everything
will work out the way its supposed in the end.

VEGAS BABY!

This trip to Vegas was a test prep/school clothes shopping/relaxing/long hours of driving/ some-what a VACATION...all depending on who you are.
For me, it was an NCLEX-RN prep course mon-thur 9a-5p; for meagan it was school clothes shopping; for my dad and chavis it was long hours of drving; and for my mom it was a combination.
To start off my parents, sister, and I drove down in my grandmas car because the back seat is more spacious..unfortunately the trunk is smaller. Everything had to be strategically placed so that everything could fit; literally there wasn't one more item that could have made it to Vegas in that trunk; we all laughed that we should've gotten out the spare tire before we packed the trunk, and had it ride in the back seat with my sister and I in case we had a problem.
Driving along, after about 3 1/2 hours we start to hear this funny sound..like a flat tire. In my mind I'm saying, "Holy sh&#, this is not really happening right now," and on the outside I'm just laughing because our trip is starting to feel like a Griswald's Family Vacation, already! Turns out, it's not a flat tire...the front fender is just FALLING OFF! (What makes matters worse is that this isn't our car). Well my dad proceeds to tell us there wasn't room for the tool box so he left it out... "holy choice word once again." Luckily enough my mom, being the crafty woman that she is, has wire (to make button rings), and it WORKS! My dad was able to wire the front fender on, and our journey continued to Vegas without problems.

Vegas went by pretty fast for me during the week because I was in class every day, all day. But on tuesday after I was done with class we went to the Outlet Mall, and there was this AMAZING TOY called Mr. fuzzy...we were so amazed that we bought 4 of them! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OJ6iEKtM_Q  this is a link to see a video of this toy..you'll be amazed) When we got back to the hotel Meagan and I opened one of the the toys so we could get started...and found out that those D#mn toys are controlled by a string...we'd been jew'd (literally..the woman who sold em to us was a jew)! Meagan and I were pissed, the woman selling them was so good we had no idea there was a string! So needless to say I didn't loose my money in slot machines, just on Mr Fuzzy!

Once Chavis arrived on Thursday night we did some fun stuff. We went to Fremont Street and watched the light  show. Chavis put 5cents in a slot machine and won $15. We watched some fun 3-D motion videos at the Excalihber, and we went to the M&M World and Coca-Cola Factory.

Even though my family is much smaller than Chavis'..My family can keep up with the noise, so he doesn't feel out of place. This was a great combo-vaca...with, as always, some PRICELESS memories!

Fall Semester

The start of Fall Semester marks the one-year of Chavis and I being together. We hung out for the first time alone on Tuesday August 19, 2009, the 2nd day of school. We watched Seinfield for 3 hours before he kissed me..okay, I kissed him (what can I say, when I know what I want I just go for it). From that night forward we were together every day we were both in town until the day we were married.

I can honestly say that Chavis is not only my best friend, but he is the man of my dreams. Every day we are married is better than the day before. I am the happiest I've ever been, and wouldn't change it for anything!

Now, if only he could have my motivation for school ;)
